Biosafety Information
Our lab is Biosafety-level 2 compatible. Our state science fair dictates that any biological project that involves culturing where the petri dish is opened at all is a BSL-2 level project. Therefore, we must take necessary BSL-2 level precautions and have documentation in order to perform biological experimentation in our lab. This page will provide you resources to be trained in BLS-2 procedures, a test you must pass in order to be in the lab, and references to complete your science fair paperwork appropriately.

View this Sway presentation to learn about the biological procedures needed to be followed in our lab.

Additionally, watch this video on Biosafety procedures. You may want to take notes.

You must pass this to perform biological experiments in the lab with a minimum of 80%. Inform your instruction once you have passed.

These documents are essential in developing your paperwork. They include the CDC Biosafety manual that MUST be referenced in you bibliography, a reference for aseptic technique, the BSL-2 checklist that must be included with you paperwork, and an example of language that can be modified to use in your research plan.
